Elon Musk: SpaceX, led by Elon Musk, has taken a revolutionary step in the world of global communications by launching the first set of satellites aimed at facilitating universal mobile phone connectivity.

Among these satellites launched by SpaceX, 21 modern cutting-edge Starlink satellites flew, out of which 6 satellites were specially designed to support the innovative ‘Direct to Sale’ service. Elon Musk’s company SpaceX had announced these 6 special satellites in 2022.

SpaceX owner Elon Musk also reposted this post made on X (old name Twitter) and said that, with this, mobile phone connectivity will be available anywhere on the earth.

After the success of this new mission, the initial phase will be tested on normal 4G LTE phones on T-Mobile’s network inside the United States. If these tests are successful, the text messaging service will go live in many countries later this year.
What is SpaceX’s plan by 2025?
Looking to expand services in the future, SpaceX plans to enable text messaging as well as voice, data and Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity by 2025. All these facilities will be started after successful activation of Direct to Sale Satellite.
